Tokyo Haneda Airport Terminals
Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) is one of the busiest and most technologically advanced airports in the world. Located close to central Tokyo, Haneda Airport combines modern infrastructure, efficient transportation and Japanese hospitality across its three passenger terminals.
History and Origins of Haneda Airport
Tokyo Haneda Airport officially opened in 1931 and originally operated as a small airfield serving the Tokyo metropolitan area. During the following decades, Haneda rapidly expanded alongside Japan’s economic growth and became the country’s primary gateway for domestic and international travel.
After World War II, the airport was significantly redeveloped and modernized. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Haneda Airport experienced major infrastructure expansions to handle increasing passenger demand and larger aircraft operations.
Today, Haneda Airport is internationally recognized for its efficiency, punctuality, cleanliness and passenger experience. It consistently ranks among the best airports in the world and serves millions of travelers every year.
